Agents

Meet the agents that work for your organization, install the optional ones you want, and tune each agent's vibe, plugins, skills, knowledge, and memory.

What the Agents Page Is

Buyer24's work is done by a small crew of agents, each with its own job. The Agents page, in the Assistant sidebar, lists every agent working for your organization, what it does, and how it's set up for you.

Everyone in your organization can open the Agents page. Only organization admins can install or uninstall agents and change how they're configured.

Included and Optional Agents

The page is split into sections. Use the All agents and Installed tabs, or Search agents, to narrow the list.

Included — always on, can't be uninstalled:

AgentWhat it does
B24 AssistantYour assistant. Answers questions, drafts tasks, and routes work to the right agent.
Procurement ManagerRuns your RFQs: drafting, supplier communication, follow-ups, quote analysis, and awards.
Setup SpecialistKeeps your organization profile, RFQ templates, and settings up to date from chat.
Onboarding GuideSets up a new workspace and turns forwarded emails into RFQ drafts.

Optional — installed by default, and yours to remove:

AgentWhat it does
Sourcing ScoutFinds and attaches suppliers for your RFQs. Uninstall it if you always pick suppliers yourself.
Market AnalystMarket intel, competitor scans, and research reports as documents.
Site BuilderBuilds and edits your hosted B2B website.

Installing and Uninstalling

Org admins click Install or Uninstall on an optional agent's card.

When you uninstall an agent:

  • It stops taking work. The assistant no longer hands it tasks, and no new chats can be focused on it.
  • Its queued tasks are cancelled. They won't come back on their own if you reinstall it later.
  • Its recurring tasks are skipped while it's uninstalled.
  • If someone asks for its kind of work, they're told the agent isn't installed and that an admin can install it on the Agents page.

For example, uninstalling Sourcing Scout means Buyer24 never picks suppliers for your RFQs. You choose the suppliers yourself, and nothing else about your RFQs changes.

Install the agent again at any time to bring it back.

An Agent's Page

Click an agent's card to open its page. The tabs are the same for every agent.

Identity

The agent's name, avatar, and description, plus a live preview of its card. The name and description of a Buyer24 agent can't be edited.

Vibe sets how the agent communicates with your organization. Pick one:

  • Professional (the default)
  • Friendly — warm and approachable, still precise on facts and numbers
  • Concise — the answer first, as short as correctness allows
  • Formal — full sentences, no contractions, suited to external and compliance-sensitive correspondence
  • Expert — peer to peer with a seasoned procurement professional, with reasoning and trade-offs

Plugins

Plugins are the tool packages an agent carries on every run. The tab has two parts:

  • Included — the tools Buyer24 builds into the agent, marked Managed by Buyer24. They can't be removed.
  • Added by your organization — plugins your org admins assigned to this agent. Use Add plugin to assign one, or Remove to take it off.

The tab shows the total number of tools the agent has on a run. A plugin that works through an outside system says Connect it under Connections first until you've connected that system on the Connections page.

Skills

Skills are the procedures an agent can follow on a run, such as how to draft an RFQ or source suppliers. Org admins can switch a skill Off to keep it out of your organization's runs, and back On later.

Knowledge

The agent reads your whole Knowledge Base when a task calls for it: your guidelines, compliance rules, and research, including documents you add later.

Core Files

Two files that the agent reads every time it works, both editable:

  • What this agent knows about your organization (MEMORY.md) — shared across your organization. Org admins edit it.
  • Your preferences for this agent (USER.md) — private to you. You edit your own.

The agent also adds to these files when you tell it something worth keeping in chat, so you don't have to repeat yourself. Its identity and behaviour are managed by Buyer24.

The B24 Assistant is set up by Buyer24. On its page you can change its vibe, but its plugins and skills are locked.

Chatting with an Agent

Every installed agent's card has a Chat button. It opens a new chat focused on that agent. You can also pick an agent with Switch agents when you start a new chat, or bring several agents and co-workers together in a team chat.

Whichever agent a chat is focused on, you talk to one assistant. When real work is needed, it proposes a task and the specialist agent runs it. See Your AI Assistant for chats, teams, and the Auto and Ask settings.

The Plugins Page

The Plugins page, in the Assistant sidebar, lists every plugin your agents can carry:

  • Platform plugins — Buyer24's own tool bundles, marked Managed by Buyer24. They're locked.
  • Your plugins — custom packages your organization builds. Click New plugin, pick tools from the platform plugins, give the package a name and an optional description, and click Create plugin. Then assign it to agents from their Plugins tab.

A custom plugin repackages tools Buyer24 already has. It never adds a new kind of tool, and everything it does still runs inside a task, with the same credits and approvals as any other run. Each card shows which agents use it. Deleting a plugin removes its tools from those agents on their next run.

On per-seat plans, custom plugins come with Pro, Organization and Enterprise. Only org admins can create them.

Customer Assistants

If your organization serves customers through a customer portal or a OneBX marketplace, the Agents page also has a Customer assistants section. These are the assistants your customers talk to, such as the Portal Assistant on your portal's request pages and the OneBX Assistant in your OneBX marketplace.

Buyer24 sets them up. Your org admins choose the name your customers see, the vibe, the optional capabilities, which customer-facing Knowledge Base categories each may read, and what it knows about your organization, and can install or uninstall them. Customer assistants have no Chat button, because you don't chat with them from your workspace.

What Agents Cost

The price of a run belongs to the agent. It doesn't depend on how long the run takes.

Onboarding GuideFree
Sourcing ScoutUses credits per supplier discovery (3 a month on Free)
Procurement ManagerUses credits
Setup SpecialistUses credits

Customising an agent never changes its price. Vibe, plugins, skills, knowledge, and memory are all included. See Pricing.

FAQ

No. You shape the agents Buyer24 provides through their vibe, plugins, skills, knowledge, and memory.

Why can't I click Install?

Only organization admins can install or uninstall agents. Ask your admin, see Understanding Roles.

Does uninstalling an agent delete its work?

No. Completed tasks and their results stay where they are. Only the agent's queued tasks are cancelled.
